These dwellings were carved into soft stone that was formed after a major volcanic eruption in the region. See the caldera below.

We spent Sunday afternoon in the plaza in downtown Santa Fe.

A sign dedicated to the people who built the a-bomb. We drove past Los Alamos National Lab on Saturday afternoon.
Here is a large open portion of Valles Caldera National Preserve, where a volcanic eruption occurred that was probably some ridiculous factor stronger than the a-bomb.

We had a great time hanging out with our friend Jill and her one-eyed dog Frazier. It's hard to beat waking up in the mountains every morning, being greeted by hummingbirds.
