Stuck in September

We had a good bit rain at the beginning of the week after having very little the last few months. So, I had to put up a picture that included 'resurrection fern' in the new header photo. At this time last week, the very same branches of that live oak were completely brown - you wouldn't have even noticed the thousands of ferns there. Monday morning, after about 2 inches of run, the ferns 'came back to life'.

I wandered around campus with the camera right after Ecua-lunch today. We ate catfish and goat. Kinda had to walk that one off.


There are still many things in bloom right now, in spite of a few frosts.

Had to check out the "Swamp". This is where the boys of Florida get it done, except for that 1 loss to Ole Miss this season. They've got their shot at redemption tomorrow!

This egret ate 4-5 little lizards out of these bushes in the middle of campus...a much more effective hunter than Chance.

A few peppers are ripening up right now in the "backyard". So yeah, it still feels like September.
