My grandparents, Harry and Adeline, both celebrated their 80th birthdays this summer so we used it as reason for a family reunion on my Dad's side. After Mark and Leah's wedding and many visits with family and friends during the week, we traveled to Sturgeon Bay in Door County.
Door County is well-known for cherries (my grandparents used to have an orchard), so all 30-something of us lined up for a cherry pit spitting contest. My Dad and Grandpa (above) and Grandma and me (below).
We also played ladderball, kickball, ultimate frisbee, and had a waterfight. It felt like old times at G&G's house with all the cousins.
Grandma Zak and baby Lydia.
Love the hat Aunt Susie.
Hangin' out and eatin' kabobs in the barn.
There's Mr. Meatball himself. We miss Chance so much.
Michelle and I hadn't been to my grandparents in summer since we honeymooned in Door County (not at my grandparents :) 3 years ago.
Grandpa Harry's vegetable garden. He keeps 2 veggie and 2 large flower gardens these days.
Doe in the old orchard.
Michelle loves the old buildings on their property. Here are a few in their old glory.
Thanks for a great party Grandma and Grandpa. Happy 80th birthday!
